19 Oct ELE USAL Indonesia Celebrates Día de la Hispanidad in Bali
Traditional games, Spanish flavours and an afternoon by the sea: ELE USAL Indonesia celebrated Día de la Hispanidad at Sanur Beach, bringing the local community together through play and cultural discovery.
Sanur, Bali | October 12, 2026
On October 12, 2026, ELE USAL Indonesia took Spanish culture beyond the classroom with a special outdoor celebration at Sanur Beach, Bali. Marking Día de la Hispanidad, the event offered children and the local community an opportunity to discover Spanish traditions in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The afternoon brought together games, food and shared experiences, showing how cultural exchange can begin with something as simple as playing together or trying a new dish.
Discovering Spanish traditions through play
Children took part in traditional games enjoyed in Spain, including sack races and El Pañuelo, the handkerchief game. These activities filled the afternoon with laughter and teamwork, giving participants a hands-on introduction to a different culture.
Rather than simply hearing about Spanish traditions, the children had the chance to experience them. The games created opportunities to participate, cooperate and enjoy the excitement of a shared challenge.
With Sanur Beach as the setting, the celebration brought a little of Spain to Bali while keeping the focus on connection, curiosity and fun.
A taste of Spain in Sanur
After the games, participants were invited to enjoy a traditional Spanish afternoon snack. The selection included tortilla de patatas, the Spanish potato omelette, alongside other Spanish specialities.
Sharing food offered another way to explore the culture behind the language. It was a moment to slow down after the activities, discover Spanish flavours and enjoy being together.

Cultural exchange beyond the classroom
At ELE USAL Indonesia, we believe that learning a language also means discovering the people, traditions and everyday experiences that give it meaning.
This celebration reflected our commitment to bringing Spanish language and culture closer to the Indonesian community. Through games and food, participants could engage with Spanish traditions in a way that felt accessible, personal and welcoming.
Our school in Bali aims to create meaningful connections between Indonesia and Spain, both inside and outside the classroom. Afternoons like this are part of that journey: opportunities to meet, share and learn from one another.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Sanur Beach and helped make this celebration a shared experience.
